Trying to find a diet program that fits your lifestyle can be difficult. But to reach your goal to lose 10 pounds or more, you will have to be ready and willing to make sacrifices.
Fortunately there are some changes you can make gradually in your eating habits that will make your transition easier and healthy. Finding the right diet method for yourself can be a challenge, even with all the choices out there.
Here are some tips for a healthy way to lose weight that will get you on your way to lose 10 pounds or more fast.
Planning Your Meals
The first and most important move in your transition to a healthier way of life is to plan exactly what you are going to have to be eating. If you have a very busy life and are always on the go, this may be a difficult challenge for you.
But it’s important to remember how necessary this is in helping you adjust to your new way of eating. You will want to plan your meals in advance. Have your breakfast, lunch and dinner already decided on the night before, and know in what amounts you are allowed to have, so you can prepare each meal accordingly with the right measurements.
This becomes simpler as you continue doing it, and you’ll soon reap the benefits from planning in advance.
Clean Out Your Fridge and Pantry
This will be tough, but absolutely necesary if you’re going to reach your weight loss goals. Get rid of anything that’s not healthy, just don’t eat everything in order to get rid of it! This includes chips, candy, cake, ice cream, etc.
Stock Up on Healthy Foods and Snacks
Stock up on healthy alternatives made with whole wheat – crackers, pretzels, bread, etc. When those cravings hit, you’ll want to be prepared with snacks that you can indulge in without the worry of unecessary weight gain.
There are plenty of guilt free choices out there to help you get and stay healthy and fit. Try snacking on almonds, fruit, dried fruits, sugar free desserts, etc. Choose organic when possible, you’ll be better off without the chemicals and the additional weight gain from them.
Avoid carbonated sodas and commercial fruit juices, you don’t need all that sugar and added calories. Drink more water and freshly squeezed juices.
Less Red Meat, More White
You still need your protein requirements when dieting, but white meats like chicken and fish will give you plenty. Try baking, broiling, or grilling more often, and less frying for less calories and more nutritional value.
Choose fatty fish such as salmon, mackeral, or herring. These are loaded with healthy omega 3 fatty acids, which are good for your heart as well. Aim for having fish at least twice a week.
By implementing some or all of these tips, you will be on your way to lose 10 pounds or more before you know it.
